What is fire?
Fires are dangerous so here are some tips to use during a fire:
Step 1: Cover your mouth with something thick.
Step 2: Protect your whole body and face by going to the floor and rolling.
Step 3: Crawl under any smoke to your closest exit. Heavy smoke and poisonous gases collect first along the ceiling.
Step 4: When a smoke alarm sounds, get out fast. You may only have seconds to escape safely.
Step 5: Once you are out of the burning building stay out. DO NOT GO BACK INTO THE BURNING BUILDING
Step 6: Make sure the firefighters know if there’s someone inside the house.
After a fire do not go to the damage. Contact the Red Cross if you need housing, food, and medicine. Do not attempt to turn on electricity yourself. If you leave your house, contact the police. You have to let them know that no one is living there. Check with the fire department to make sure your house is safe to enter.
